Naming a business or product is paramount to writing a one word novel.
It must convey the essence of the brand in a short, succinct and intuitive
manner. Accomplishing this requires truly knowing your customer, your
products, your business and yourself. It requires an understanding
of your core competencies... not just what you do, but what you do
well. If we can create a name that matches your true passion, then
you will attract truly appreciative customers -- ones that are a pleasure,
not a pain, to serve. And wouldn't that be nice? So the first step
is to spend some time on the form "Getting Started" and
really delve into what makes you, your products, your services and
your company completely unique and different. Next you will be asked
to rank the category or type of name you are looking for, depending
on your preferences. Here are a few examples of names we’ve
done...

Next, we will email you a quote based on the scope of the project
(national, regional, local) and other considerations such as tag
line development, domain name acquisition and logo design.
After extensive brainstorming, (usually several dozen names), we
will email you a list of three to five top "candidates",
with a short rationale statement detailing how each name could be
used to position your brand or company. Our goal is equip you with
an intuitive name, a matching tag line, a strategic marketing position
and a future marketing platform.
Now that’s brilliant!
You may instantly like one or more of them. Or you may ask that
we go back and "tinker" a bit more. This process continues
until we narrow in on the type of naming strategy and name that
fits you best. We generally accomplish this in one to three "rounds"
of names. Once the name is established, we will then provide you
with a tag line or positioning statement that further supports and
further clarifies your name.
At this point we run a quick check for any obvious trademark infringement
at http://www.uspto.gov The final
search is best left to your attorney or a qualified trademark attorney.
We can recommend a trademark service if you do not have an attorney
for that.
If there is ever a trademark conflict with a name, Tungsten will
provide you another name in its place at no charge. Since many companies
never bother to file a trademark, it takes a thorough search by
an experienced trademark firm to uncover all federal, state and
common/unfiled usages of a name.
Last but not least, we look for that elusive domain name to match
your new company or product name. If not available, we will find
a closely matching one, such as we did for P.O.D.S. when we obtained
PODS.com.
If you're ready to "flip the switch", just fill out our
"Getting Started" form for a free estimate of your naming
needs. |
