Product Naming

A brilliant brand name can showcase a great product and highlight its attributes. When done well, and in the right circumstances, it can become the "Xerox," "Kodak," or "PODS," of its category -- defining the industry itself. Even with smaller projects, a well conceived product brand name can provide a competitive advantage due to its originality, ease of pronunciation, high name recall and ability to “own” a position in the market. At Tungsten Branding we work to create not just names, but marketing platforms. This way the name provides a natural segue into a deeper conversation about the product. The names can be intuitive and fitting, or disruptive and intriguing, -- but either way they invite the customer to ask for more, take another look, and advance one more step in your direction. Some people call that "engagement." We simply call it "brilliant."

Fees

Since product naming and branding have more variables than company naming (i.e. design, packaging, distribution, naming hierarchy or branding architecture, etc.) these projects require custom quoting. Depending on the size and scope of the assignment, the number of decision makers, the amount of design and the degree of trademark research, product branding fees can range from $5,000 on the low end to $50,000 on the upper end. Here are a few examples of products that Tungsten Branding has named...

Proleva - This powerful nutritional supplement needed a name that spoke to its ability to prolong good health and relieve the daily stress placed on our immune systems. The Proleva name conveys the notions of longevity and relief while providing a simple, intuitive name that rolls easily off the tongue.

Rosetta Hardscapes - This Michigan-based company needed a name for its concrete retaining wall system. The challenge was that the artificial concrete "stone" appeared more real than natural rocks, and the client wanted a unique name that reflected this authenticity. So Tungsten created the Rosetta Hardscape brand line, a name based on the historic stone that unlocked the mysterious writings of the ancient world. Rosetta sounds both strong and beautiful, (which it is,) and now graces many a backyard landscape.

Clik – U.S. Stamp & Sign needed a simple, intuitive name for its “Next Generation Stamp™.” What could be simpler than Clik! The Clik! custom stamp delivers quick, clean operation—the pre-inked pad retracts into the stamp body when not in use. Single-hand operation keeps your hands away from the ink area to prevent messes.
